SALO', READY FOR THE REQUALIFICATION OF THE ROWING SPORTS CENTER
The energy requalification of the rowing sports center is a project that aims to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the sports and recreational facilities located in Salò, on Lake Garda. The intervention, financed for the most part by the Municipality of Salò with the contribution of a regional tender, mainly concerns the area of the indoor swimming pools, where swimming, fitness and rehabilitation courses are held.
Among the main works planned are:
The installation of a 150 kW photovoltaic system which will make it possible to cover almost all the energy needs in the summer months and 30% on an annual basis;
The replacement of the boilers with condensing models and the renovation of the heating plant, which will make the swimming facilities more energy efficient with particular attention to pollution;
The adoption of an isothermal sheet for the cover of the small pool, which will limit the nocturnal evaporation of the water and contribute to further energy savings.
Furthermore, the company that manages the sports center has taken steps to renovate the filter room, with the replacement of all the pipes and the use of new generation filters, which will guarantee greater quality and wholesomeness of the water.
The director of the sports centre, Nicola Benedetti, underlined that it was an intervention with an open heart, carried out without interrupting the service and with a strategic perspective, to offer its users structures of excellence3. The project goes against the trend of the critical situation of many municipal plants in the province, affected by the pandemic and by the increase in energy costs. It is therefore a virtuous example of synergy between the public and private sectors, which demonstrates how it is possible to reconcile sports development with respect for the environment.
